Marathi cinema is getting global recognition with films like ‘Shwaas’ which gave India its official entry to Oscars in 2004 and ‘Ventilator’ which was invited to the 55th New York Film Festival, 2017. ‘Ventilator’ was a masterpiece produced by Purple Pebble Pictures, a film production company owned by actor - turned producer Priyanka Chopra Jonas. Another such project was the film ‘Firebrand’; let's find out some facts about this film:

1. ‘Firebrand’ was Netflix India’s first licensed original Marathi film, produced by Priyanka Chopra Jonas.

2. It is one of the first digital ventures made by Purple Pebble Pictures production company.

3. This film was directed by Aruna Raje who is a National Award winner.

4. The cast of this film includes National Film Award winner Usha Jadhav and National Film Award winner Girish Kulkarni along with Sachin Khedekar and Rajeshwari Sachdev.

5. The film premiered exclusively on Netflix in 190 countries on 22nd February 2019.

6. Priyanka Chopra Jonas who took tremendous pride and satisfaction in being associated with this project was excited about bringing this film on Netflix as she wished that it should reach a larger volume of audience.
